Southern Utah wrestling for all!


Coach EnglishCoach English graduated from Hurricane High School in 1997 placing in the State Wrestling tournament both his Junior and Senior years. He then went on to wrestle Freestyle and Greco for the All Army Wrestling team.  Coach Cortney placed 4th in 1999 and 3rd in 2000 at the All Army Wrestling Championships. Coach English competed with the Army at Fort Carson Colorado from 1999 thru 2000 and participated with training  at the Olympic Training Center with the WCAP (World Class Athlete Program) alongside many  U.S. Olympians and National Champions. He has participated in some of the largest tournaments in the country such as: the All Army Wrestling Championships, Sunkist Kids Tournament, and U.S. Nationals. Coach English began coaching in Hurricane Utah for three years as an assistant coach with Hurricane High School. He has been a Coach with the Utah National Team in Fargo the past two years and the assistant coach for the Womens Utah National Team (H.V.W.C. had 4 girls wrestling with the National Team in 2016).  Cortney is  bronze certified in coaching thru USA Wrestling  and the co¬founder of Hurricane Valley Wrestling Club. After his competition days were over Coach English attended Nursing School in Houston Texas. Coach English is married with 2 little girls (that now wrestle with HVWC). When he isn’t coaching the sport he loves Coach Cortney can be found spending quality time with his family. He truly loves Southern Utah, fishing, and the outdoors.  Coach Cortney works as a Charge Nurse at Hurricane Health and Rehab. While living in Texas Coach English and his wife Sandra received a black belt in taekwondo.

Randy JacquesCoach Jaques has been wrestling since he was 5 years old. Coach Jaques started wrestling under Legendary Coach Sanderson. He is a very accomplished and decorated wrestler. Qualifying for state all four years of High school and placing 5th his sophomore year, and third his junior and senior year. Randy’s overall high school record was 130 – 17. He has wrestled successfully at the U.S. Junior national Championships and Western Junior Regionals several times. He has competed against the nation’s top wrestlers and has a vast knowledge of skills and technique. Randy has coached for many years at the youth level and is a Utah National Team Coach. He obtained his eagle scout award with the Boy Scouts of America, served a mission for the LDS church in the south pacific, he has also received his bronze level coaching certification through USA Wrestling and Currently Operates his own Tree service In Southern Utah.
